The grass is turning green, the birds are singing us songs, and our quilters and scrapers are arriving for what promises to be a great weekend!
Loving life at Saline Creek Farm!
Saline Creek Farm News
Hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and have big plans to bring in 2014!
If you’ve resolved to get caught up on your scrapbooks or other projects in 2014 we want to help you make that happen! Nothing says “productive” like a weekend retreat where you can focus solely on the task at hand (and have some fun with the girls)! We have a couple of spots open for the weekends of Jan 3rd, 10th and 24th. Call or email to reserve a spot and start the new year off with a productive, relaxing, reenergizing retreat weekend!
It seems as though fall is finally here!
We’ve had several straight days of rain here on the Farm and this weather makes me feel like staying in and getting cozy by the fire and baking something yummy in the kitchen!
Guests this month are enjoying our famous Carrot Raisin muffins — the likes of which have certainly been around Saline Creek longer that we have! Sooo … by popular demand, the Carrot Muffin recipe is making its debut here on our recipe web page!
So get your BIG mixing bowl out and make a batch of these – but beware, the recipe makes 3 dozen muffins. The mix keeps well for a couple of weeks in the refrigerator so mix up a batch and enjoy them in the mornings for breakfast, or pop a couple in the oven for an evening treat with a cup of decaf.
It has been a busy, busy month at Saline Creek Farm! We have had some great groups out here and have been enjoying the fall weather and the changes that it brings with the cooler temperatures and the increased energy level of the holiday season approaching!
Many have asked for a few of the recipes that we have been making this month so I have posted a few new recipes on the site. The Sopapilla Cheesecake is a no-fail crowd pleaser and pairs great with the Enchilada Casserole and some homemade guacamole! The Zucchini and Green Chile Breakfast Casserole is fabulous for brunch with some muffins or our Cinnamon Breakfast Coffee Cake.
We are very busy again in November and are having Tim’s entire family here for the weekend for a Krailo Family Thanksgiving Gathering! We are looking very forward to having Tim’s mom and all of his siblings, kids, and grandkids together for the first time in many, many years! Cameron and Mackenzie are very excited about spending four days with all of their cousins!
We hope that your plans for Thanksgiving include some down time to relax, take in a football game or two, eat lots of yummy food, and just thank the One from whom all blessings flow for all that you have been given!
